Bates Utility Company has extensive experience working with trenchless systems for water mains, sewer lines, gas pipelines, manholes and treatment plants.

Pipe Bursting
Pipe bursting is a method by which the existing pipe is opened and forced outward by a bursting tool. A hydraulic or pneumatic expansion head (part of the bursting tool) is pulled through the existing pipeline, typically by using a cable and winch.

Slip Lining
Slip lining is a technique for repairing leaks or restoring structural stability to an existing pipeline. It involves installing a smaller, “carrier pipe” into a larger “host pipe”, grouting the annular space between the two pipes, and sealing the ends.

CIPP Lateral Repair
Cured-in-Place-Pipe (CIPP) lining is a method of trenchless rehabilitation and restoration used in the repair existing pipes. CIPP lining uses a textile liner tube and a liquid resin.

Structure Rehab
Manhole rehabilitation and structure repair services removes infiltration within the access point and restores structural integrity. This method is cost effective and minimally disrupts traffic or sewer operations. Bates Utility has trained and certified employees to perform cementitious and epoxy lining on various types of structures, which include manholes and pump stations.
Applications include but are not limited to:
- Slip-Lining
- CIPP Laterals and main repairs
